I'm a highschooler planning on getting into Stanford after 12th, please suggest when should i start applying for it

Great to see your interest and passion!

Stanford is a great University and a dream Uni for many.

Adding to what Gauri rightly mentioned, I would also suggest taking up relevant field and project experience. You can start with internships or start putting your knowledge in developing a personal passion project.

For extracurriculars, make sure you are including some volunteering and leadership roles. These can be from NGOs or other social groups.

SOPs and LORs will also be of vital importance so make sure to get a strong LOR from your professors. If you can get an LOR from a professor for your field that clearly states your skills, experience and projects in school, it’ll be beneficial. Make a strong SOP and not a generic one.

Firstly I would suggest you to score very well in boards because it actually matters. Tho there are other options if academic brilliance is not in the bucket. But I would suggest you to score at least 90-92% in tenth and you have to maintain and stay above 80-85% in your 11th and 12th as well. Stanford is pretty reputed so it's not easy to get it. You can find ways to contact the heads there through linked in - search on yt for things like these which may increase your acceptance probability. And take up courses on edx etc based on your career goal to improve your profile. Also try to take part in some social acitivities - the ones you can add to your profile or try a sport as an extra curriculum. That's because they look at your profile in an overall manner and not just the academics tho they prove to be of great help in the future. And be prepared till you start your 12th. After you get your 11th result, start applying.
