Hi Anju, yes, IELTS is a requirement for most unis if not all, especially in Canada. It is preferred over the TOEFL everywhere in the country when you plan on doing your masters coming from a country where English is not always the primary mode of education. Most countries actually require IELTS or TOEFL since they need you to pass a minimum level of English speaking, listening, reading and writing qualification before you can get a formal education in those countries.
