Hi,

MTU has one of the best Masters in Geographic Information Science programs. The location is perfect for this program which makes MTU a great choice. The department/college within MTU which hosts this program is also really well known in the US. I also have a friend who is going for this program. He received admission from ASU, University of Arizona and Penn State and selected MTU over all of these options.

Michigan Tech is a great engineering school that has long had one of the best returns on investment, value for money, and overall quality of education. ECE, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Physics are some of the most popular majors at the university. MTU is also a great option to consider for Computer Science and Data Science, Geographic Information Science, and Health Informatics programmes. There are many excellent professors in all departments who provide one-on-one attention. MTU's community feel is also excellent, owing to the fact that it is not a large college in a major city. Living expenses are very cheap. One of the safest towns in the US with the world's freshest air. A lot of fun stuff going on around the school with events such as Winter Carnival one of the biggest in the US. MTU also has the best hockey team which plays Divison 1 games. Skiing, snowboarding, nature trails, national park, beaches you name it Upper Peninsula has everything. The most exciting is the Northern Lights phenomenon which happens in Winter. Very rare and many dreams to catch this spectacle which folks at MTU have easy access to.

One of the most underrated and upcoming schools. This year for CS in the US News it jumped from 140-150 rankings range to 100-120 and the trend will likely continue. This shows that MTU has been putting a lot of money and resources into research in Technology and Information Science. Also, this fall MTU received one of the highest applications for their undergrad programs compared to last fall season. Again this trend will likely continue.

UMich Ann Arbor, Michigan State and Michigan Tech are the top three schools in Michigan for STEM programs according to Niche.com and many other major ranking indexes.
