Do universities extend the deadline for replying to their offer letter?

I have received admit form GWU with some grant need to reply them by April 15. I am awaiting decision from USC for the Applied in Data Science program, I contacted the USC and they said the decision could come anytime between Jan-May. Do universities extend their deadline ?
