I would suggest that you discard NEU and ASU this year. Both have very limited seats and have increased their gpa cut off to about 8/8.5.

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to take my chances with NEU. Any specific reason I should not consider SJSU ? I was thinking to remove UC, riverside from the list as it'd be too costly for two years ! @HarshilRana @VINAYJOSHI @sahanabha

NEU this year was gpa centric and I could see a lot of rejects for < 8/8.5 cgpa profiles
ASU is very safe for ur profile if u apply early/well within their deadline, otherwise they may push late applicants to IT/SE

ASU, UTD and USC have highest number of intake in US. UTD at times rejects overqualified profiles where as USC probably won't consider 7 pointers. If u apply to ASU before 1st dec( oct/nov to b e on a very safer side) admit is assured.

Forgot to mention, ASU pushes overqualified profiles to IT/SE, since they are sure such students would go for better colleges
