University Selection

Question

I currently have admissions from UMass Boston and Stevens for MSCS. I am awaiting the decision of UoC Denver. All three cost me more than 35 lakhs, and my only option is to change my admission for the spring 23 or choose one of these. I would like to know if spending that much is a good idea or if I should try for other universities for the spring intake. Your insights and suggestions are very valuable. Thank you.

Hi,

Going for fall is always better compared to Spring. Also, Stevens will be a good option.

Why?
- location, close to nyc and a fantastic campus overall.
- alumni network. lot of cs folks working in top companies.
- networking opportunities.
- on campus jobs. plenty of on campus opportunities since the campus is huge.
- good reputation in and around New York.

Hi,
If cost is a major issue, you can apply for cheap state universities in the USA for spring 2023. If finance is not a major issue, choose UMass Boston or Stevens and go for the fall 2022 intake. I doubt 6 months to 1-year difference would have a big impact on a profile. Many applicants are unaware of the fact that once you complete 9 months (some universities allow after 2 semesters while some follow 18 credits) of the master's course, you're allowed to do an internship. Now, that's the law and you can't play with it. This means when you enter the Spring (January), the internship phase - June to August - becomes 'useless'. The following article might help you decide:
