I need some assistance in the final university selection. I have applied to 6 universities and I am looking to apply to around 5 or 6 more. Field of Interest: Signal Processing and Image Processing. Degree Goal (MS/Ph.D.): MS in ECE, Fall 2017 GRE: 330 [ Quant: 170 + Verbal: 160] (AWA: 4.0) TOEFL: 111 Percentage(do not convert to US scale): 69.5% ----------------------------------------------------------------------- College: Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (University of Delhi) Branch: Instrumentation and Control (2013-17) Percentage(do not convert to US scale): 69.5% Department rank: College doesn't provide. But around 35 or 40 out of 170 Topper's Percentage: 81 approx --------------------------------------------------------- Internships/Projects: 1. Short term scholar at San Diego State University: Worked upon image and video processing comprising of compression of both by the latest applicable standards using MATLAB. Explored High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC). 2. Final year B. Tech project in the Biomedical signal processing domain. 3.Winter Training Program: A month long signal processing training in MATLAB and Simulink. ------------------------------------------------------ Recommendations: 1. From my guiding professor at San Diego State University: moderate 2. From a professor ( taught 2 subjects and instructed one lab): moderate/strong 3. From a professor ( 1 subject and 1 winter training of MATLAB): moderate/strong ------------------------------------------------------- Social Work: 2 months working with American India Foundation in 2014 Misc: -Cleared N5 Japanese language proficiency exam. -Head of operations, Enactus NSIT. I believe I have applied to some ambitious universities already. If the rest of the shortlist can be classified in terms of ambitious, moderate and safe, that would be great. Thanks in advance.
