- The USA has some of the finest global mechanical engineering programs. The University of Michigan- Ann Arbor and Georgia Tech probably have the most reputed Mechanical Engineering programs in the world. These universities will give you unparalleled opportunities to do some cutting-edge research. US universities, in general, give you a brand name degree that will hold value in whichever country you move to for a job. If you are planning to move back to your home country you should keep the university’s reputation in mind. Keep in mind however that if you want to specialise in/move into the automobile sector, the USA will not be a good destination because a lot of auto manufacturers and auto OEMS do not usually sponsor an H1B visa for foreign nationals. So, settling down for an extended period of time as an automobile engineer in the USA will be very difficult.

- Canada, is proving to be a great destination because its top universities like the University of Toronto, McGill, British Columbia and Waterloo are as good if not better than many top American and European universities. Getting a PR in Canada is an easy process with possibilities of you getting the PR within 6 months of graduating from your master's program. This gives you increased flexibility to search for jobs in a company and sector that you like. There are a variety of jobs in the areas of manufacturing, design, analysis, refrigeration, transportation, and power generation. Canada also requires a solid undergraduate academic profile for a top admit though. But I have read online that Canada has lower opportunities when it comes to mechanical, electrical, civil, etc. (I am not 100% sure and will suggest you to do your own research).
