Visa Interview Experience:
Reached the consulate at 8:15 and was allowed inside immediately.
Security check and the waiting took an hour.
Was assigned counter 11 (An F1 student in the next counter was being grilled by the VO since he was very nervous, his was approved too eventually)
VO: Good morning ! How are you? (My passport and i-20 were given to the officer by the helping staff while I was standing in the counter queue)
ME: Good morning, I am great.
VO: When did you Graduate?
ME: 2014 June.
VO: What have you been doing since?
ME: Worked for XYZ company for a couple of years and then started my application process.
VO: What sort of a company is XYZ?
ME: Gave a brief overview about my former company.
VO: What is your GRE score?
ME: 314 (Mentioned the break-up score as well).
VO: What do your parents do and their annual income?
ME: Gave my answer.
VO: I am approving your visa. Have a good stay in US
ME: Thanks a lot, have a good day.
That’s it folks, the interview lasted for around 30 seconds. It was like a rapid fire round. Based on my experience, I would suggest the following things.
