VO: Good morning ! How are you? (My passport and i-20 were given to the officer by the helping staff while I was standing in the counter queue)

Good morning, I am great.

VO: What have you been doing since?
ME:
Worked for XYZ company for a couple of years and then started my application process.

VO: What sort of a company is XYZ?
ME:
Gave a brief overview about my former company.

VO: What is your GRE score?
ME:
314 (Mentioned the break-up score as well).

VO: What do your parents do and their annual income?
ME:
Gave my answer.

VO: I am approving your visa. Have a good stay in US
ME:
Thanks a lot, have a good day.

That’s it folks, the interview lasted for around 30 seconds. It was like a rapid fire round. Based on my experience, I would suggest the following things.

  • Be confident (mundane advise, but most important) and give short and brisk answers. Stick to the point, don’t elaborate.
  • Carry all the required docs.
  • Brush up basic concepts in your field of study.

All the best for future applicants.
