Overview

The students will learn how to design hardware-software systems from transistors to systems software. Microprocessors are a central topic, and our curriculum includes both designing microprocessors and building hardware-software systems that contain microprocessors. While many of our graduates go on to work at traditional computer companies many also go to work for the much more numerous companies that embed computers within other products such as cars, consumer electronics, appliances, medical devices, tractors, and airplanes.
