Overview

The purpose of this degree is to prepare students for advanced study and industry in the field of electrical engineering. The Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (M.S.E.E.) is a degree program combining breadth across several areas of study within electrical engineering and specialization within one area, which includes an option to pursue thesis research under the guidance of a faculty adviser. Areas of study include communication and signal processing, computers and microelectronics, and power and control systems. The program is normally completed in three semesters of full-time study.

Academic Pre-Requisites

  • Applicant should have a four-year bachelor's degree with a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0/4.0 (or its equivalent) from an accredited institution
  • Applicant should have Four-year bachelor’s degree or three-year bachelor’s degrees must be conferred in First Class with Distinction from a NAAC Grade “A” Indian institution (see IIT’s three-year degree policy here), other three-year bachelor’s degrees must be accompanied by a two-year master’s degree
  • Prerequisite: Circuit Analysis, Digital Systems, Electrodynamics, Signals and Systems, Engineering Electronics, Multivariate and Vector Calculus and Introduction to Differential Equations
  • GRE is accepted but exact exam score is not published by the college.
  • Three letters of recommendation, from individuals who can judge the probability of success of candidate in graduate school.
